ILEA MEMBER AND LIVE EVENTS INDUSTRY LEADER RICHARD AARON
TO BE INDUCTED INTO THE CIC HALL OF LEADERS AT IMEX AMERICA
Chicago, Ill. – Live events industry leader and International Live Events Association(ILEA) member Richard Aaron, CSEP Emeritus, MFA, will be inducted into the Convention Industry Council (CIC) Hall of Leaders at IMEX America, Oct. 18-20, 2016 in Las Vegas.
Mr. Aaron is the first-ever inductee selected as a member of ILEA. The CIC Hall of Leaders Award recognizes outstanding leaders who have undoubtedly shaped the industry, acknowledging excellence, career achievement and inspiring change in the global meetings, conventions, exhibitions, travel and events industry.
Mr. Aaron, a 20-year professor at NYU, has made countless contributions to the industry, including his dedicated work and involvement in ILEA over the past several years. Mr. Aaron was the founding ILEA President for the NYC Chapter and a member of the International Board of Governors. He was also Chair of the ILEA International Education Foundation which developed funding for student scholarships.
In addition, Mr. Aaron made tremendous contributions to the SEARCH Foundation. Formed in 1997, SEARCH was born out of the need to assist special event, meetings and hospitality professionals faced with a life threatening illness. Mr. Aaron was instrumental in getting this business of hope off the ground.
Mr. Aaron is also responsible for one of the greatest innovations within the industry, BizBash. BizBash addressed a much-needed digital solution for ideas, news and resources for event and meeting professionals, and Mr. Aaron’s visionary inspiration of ideas and connection of resources to the industry depicting real time reporting of events has been revolutionary.
“Richard, for more than forty years, has never once stopped offering up inspiration to every segment of our industry,” said Jodi Collen, CSEP, Immediate Past President, ILEA. “He is very deserving of the CIC Hall of Leaders Award and we are proud to have him as a member of ILEA.”
This year’s CIC Hall of Leaders will also recognize Colleen A. Rickenbacher, CSEP Emeritus, CMP, CPC, CTA, CPECP. Ms. Rickenbacher has been an ILEA member for 20 years and is a member of the ILEA Dallas Chapter.
The CIC Hall of Leaders celebration will take place Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Jewel Nightclub at Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
