Frequently Asked Questions

Can I purchase individual days or tickets to the evening events only?
The conference package includes two full days of conference sessions, the ILEA Annual General Meeting, Welcome Reception, Dine Around (though attendees pay for dinner on their own), After Parties, Esprit Awards. The only event that you can purchase separately/additional tickets to is the Esprit Awards – and there are individual and table options.

Do I need to be an ILEA member to attend?
No, anyone can attend I-24. If you are not yet a member, you can take advantage of the bundle pricing – which includes an ILEA membership.

Are there discounted rates?
The registration rates are tiered based on when you sign up. The earlier you register, the more discounted the packages are.

 

Do I need to sign up to attend chapter leadership training?
Yes, chapter leadership training takes place on Monday, August 12. It is open to all chapter board members and attendees must register in advance.

What is the cancellation policy?
ILEA understands life happens and plans may have to change, therefore you may cancel your registration and receive a refund of monies paid, less a $150 cancellation fee until July 8, 2024. After that date, no cancellations with refund will be accepted. You may transfer your registration to another attendee, without charge or penalty, until August 9, 2024. After August 9, 2024, no transfers or substitutions are allowed without express written authorization of the ILEA President or Executive Director.  

What are the hotel rates?
The host hotel is the Westin Seattle and the rate is $269++.

What if I want to come early or stay later?
The room block is available from August 10-15. Learn more here.

When does the room block close?
July 19.

Are there any discounts on air?
Yes, Alaska Airlines, the hometown airline, is offering 5% off flights. We recommend making your flight arrangements early on as traveling to Seattle in August is the most peak time of year. Refer to code: ECMK538. To use your Discount Code, go online to alaskaair.com and input the Discount Code when searching for flights. The discount will be applied to any flights traveling to/from Seattle for the conference between August 8-22, 2024. *Cannot be combined with any other companion or promotional fares.   

What if I need accommodations?
ILEA is committed to making our events accessible to everyone. If you require an accommodation or service to fully participate, please let us know during the registration process or reach out to us at info@ileahub.com as it is our desire to make this event inclusive for all. 

What meals will be included in the conference registration?
Mon: Dinner at the Welcome Reception.
Tues: Lunch, snacks (Dinner is organized by the conference committee via the Dine Around by paid for individually).
Wed: Lunch, snacks, Dinner at the Esprit Awards.

Will dietary needs/preferences be accommodated?
Our team is working to ensure that all attendees have a inclusive experience. During the registration process you can notate your dietary needs and preferences.

What is the SEARCH Foundation? How can I donate?
The SEARCH Foundation was formed in 1997 and exists to assist special event, meetings, and catering professionals faced with a life threatening illness or catastrophic occurrence. The Special Event Assistance, Relief + Crisis Help Foundation is for event pros, by event pros. The foundation has helped in over 250 cases and distributed over $1M in relief funds. A portion of your conference package registration ($33) will be donated to the SEARCH Foundation. On Tuesday, August 13 the SEARCH Foundation will be the fundraising at the official After Party event.

 

What should I wear to the conference?
For the conference portion you are welcome to wear business/casual, whatever is most comfortable. We’ll be publishing info when we get closer to the conference on the evening activities and themes.

 

What will the weather be like in Seattle?
August is the prime time to visit the Pacific Northwest and temperatures are typically between 75-85 degrees.

Is this a safe space?
As a participant, attendee, speaker, sponsor, or staff member of our conference, you are expected to adhere to this Code of Conduct to ensure a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all. 

  • Respect: Treat all attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and staff with respect and consideration, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or any other characteristic. 

  • Harassment: Harassment in any form, including but not limited to verbal, physical, sexual, or emotional harassment, will not be tolerated. This includes unwelcome comments, gestures, jokes, or advances. If you feel harassed or witness harassment, please report it to conference staff immediately. 

  • Inclusivity: Strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and valued. Avoid language or behavior that excludes or marginalizes individuals or groups. 

  • Professionalism: Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times. This includes refraining from disruptive behavior, excessive drinking, or any other behavior that may detract from the conference experience of others. 

  • Privacy: Respect the privacy of others. Do not photograph, record, or share personal information about attendees, speakers, sponsors, or exhibitors without their consent. 

  • Compliance: Adhere to all conference policies, rules, and instructions provided by conference staff. Failure to comply may result in expulsion from the conference without refund. 

  • Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of yourself and others. Report any safety concerns or emergencies to conference staff immediately. 

  • Intellectual Property: Respect the intellectual property rights of others. Do not reproduce, distribute, or use copyrighted materials without permission. 

  • Feedback: Provide constructive feedback and engage in respectful dialogue with fellow attendees, speakers, sponsors, and staff. Criticism should be directed at ideas and content, not individuals. 

  • Zero Tolerance: We reserve the right to take appropriate action, including expulsion from the conference, against anyone who violates this Code of Conduct.
